Light in the Piazza at the New Hazlett Theater

Light in the Piazza tells the poignant, romantic and sometimes humorous story of Margaret Johnson, a wealthy Southern woman, and her innocent daughter, Clara, as they encounter the charm of Italy and the famiglia Naccarelli. They learn about love, themselves and each other during an emotionally-charged summer visiting Rome and Tuscany in 1953.

Light in the Piazza features a beautifully crafted score by Adam Guettel (Richard Rodgers’ grandson) and is based on the book by Craig Lucas. The musical was nominated for eleven Tony awards, winning six, including for Best Orchestration and Best Original Score. It ran for 504 performances on Broadway in 2005-2006.

Presented by Front Porch TheatricalsLight in the Piazza will be performed from Friday, August 21 until Sunday, August 30. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit the New Hazlett Theater Light in the Piazza event page, or the Front Porch Theatricals website.
