MWSS Progressive Dinner 2020: Paris, J’Adore!

The Mexican War Streets Society Progressive Dinner 2020 will be held on Saturday, February 29 from 5:30 to 11:00 pm. And the theme: Paris, J’Adore!

What is the Progressive Dinner? It’s an annual Mexican War Streets tradition to help us get out of our houses in the winter and meet our neighbors, both new and old. Participants will break out into small groups to have different parts of a meal at different host homes. The MWSS provides all the wine and extras, while each person in a group contributes a part of the meal with an appetizer, salad, entree, or dessert. Entree chefs all make the same easy recipe that is chosen by the MWSS.

Participants will gather at the Mattress Factory at 5:30 pm for pre-dinner drinks, introductions, and announcements, then break off into assigned groups for the appetizer and entree portions of the meal. All guests will reconvene at the Mattress Factory for dessert.

Admission to the Progressive Dinner is $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers. This goes toward covering the cost of wine and decorations. This is a 21+ event. With this year’s theme Paris, J’Adore!, start thinking Breton stripes, berets, can-can dancers, fine wines, macarons, Truffaut films, cigarettes, and ennui. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in line with the theme, but of course, it’s not a requirement!

Are You Interested in Being a Progressive Dinner Host?

The MWSS is looking for people to host either appetizers (stand-up) or the entree (sit down). If you are interested in hosting a part of the meal for 8-12 people, and you live within the boundaries of North Avenue to Jefferson Street and Brighton Road to Arch Street, send an email to info@mexicanwarstreets.org. Hosts do not have to cook.
