Over the last ten months, Neu Kirche Contemporary Art Center worked with the Neu Girls Art Fellows in an intensive after-school program that was developed specifically for Northside girls ages 8-18. The program was focused on developing skills in photography, printmaking, zine-making, and exhibition design. Neu Girls explored technical processes through extended projects, critiques and field trips led by guest artists and partner art organizations that bolster NK’s holistic approach towards supporting collaboration and women in the arts.
To showcase their work, the Neu Girls Art Fellows are holding an exhibition on June 3, at 5:00 pm at Neu Kirche Contemporary Art Center, located at 1000 Madison Avenue in East Deutschtown. For more information, visit the Neu Girls Exhibition event page. The exhibition is curated by the girls in collaboration with teaching artists Leah Morelli and Jimmy Riordan.
