Perry Hilltop Hosts Corner of Hope Celebration

Come to Perry Hilltop for food, fun, and games at a free family-friendly community event to celebrate the re-dedication of new Josh Gibson and Negro League paintings! This past year, the Perry Hilltop Citizens Council, The Pittsburgh Project, and Oakglade Realty have been working to renovate this 1997 outdoor art installation that features Josh Gibson and other Negro League baseball players with accompanying quotes of these influential athletes.

There are nine newly-installed Negro League-themed murals, 20 years after the original installation! The murals were produced by students at The Pittsburgh Project, along with artist and art teacher, Sandy Kessler Kaminski, with support from Oakglade Realty.

The Perry Hilltop Citizens Council is holding the Corner of Hope Celebration! at the intersection of West Burgess Street and Wilson Avenue in Perry Hilltop on Saturday, April 22 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
