SPACE welcomes our neighbor, Randy Gilson and his Thinkerers to their gallery in Downtown Pittsburgh. The Thinkerers are a series of more that 200 original pieces of art created with colorful and unique faces, hand-painted on reclaimed slate tiles to bring back to life the energy of a material as old as the Earth itself.
Randy Gilson, of Randyland, describes his Thinkerers project this way: “The Thinkerers are time capsules, forgotten energies/story tellers that were for thousands of years stuck inside the stone below our feet and placed on the roofs of the houses of mankind, Cave Men and Dinosaurs walked on these stones. The stone absorbed the energies and now need to be released to share their many stories.” Listen to more of Randy describing the Thinkerers project.
Thinkerers is on display in the front room of the SPACE gallery, windowSPACE from Friday, May 15 until Sunday, June 28. For more information, including gallery hours, visit the SPACE event page or the Thinkerers Facebook event page. SPACE is located at 812 Liberty Avenue. The SPACE exhibition is free and open to the public.
