Reading Into History Book Club: Around the World in 80 Days

Do your kids love reading stories about the past? Do you want to take a virtual look at historic images, museum artifacts, or other digital ways that help bring stories to life? Join Heinz History Center for the Reading into History Virtual Family Book Club! As part of the Heinz History Center’s Women Forging the Way initiative, the Book Club is focusing on stories of women in history, including code breakers, aviation pioneers, and crusading journalists. And as part of the History Center’s focus on telling the story of journalist Nellie Bly, the book selected for the Book Club is Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne – the book that inspired Nellie’s record-setting trip around the world.

Reading Into History Virtual Family Book Club: Around the World in 80 Days will take place on Sunday, January 24 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. This event is free. For more information, or to register for your free virtual seat, visit the Reading into History Family Book Club event page. If you have questions, email the Youth and Family Program Manager, Nate Rodda.
