Sound Series: Ensemble Linea

The Warhol began the Sound Series in 2004 as a consistent and ongoing concert series featuring a broad range of artists and bands that increasingly blur genres and sensibilities of contemporary independent music. Performances take place in a variety of venues, ranging from The Warhol theater, which offers an intimate performance experience with warm acoustics and strong sound clarity, to the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.

The Warhol and Music on the Edge welcome the French new music collective Ensemble Linea. Founded by pianist and conductor Jean-Philippe Wurtz in 1998, and based in Alsace, a northeastern region of France, at the crossroads of many different cultures. Linea covers a diverse aesthetic perspective, from musical theater to electronic music, from Western music to the rich Asian and American repertoires.

Sound Series: Ensemble Linea will be performed on Saturday, April 2, at 8:00 pm at The Warhol. The performance is co-presented with the Music on the Edge series of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Music. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
