Sound Series: Jens Lekman at The Warhol

Sound Series at The Andy Warhol Museum

Established in 2004, The Warhol’s Sound Series features a broad range of artists and bands from around the world that blur genres of contemporary independent music. These live music performances challenge conventional perceptions of art and provide audiences with diverse performance experiences. The Sound Series is inspired by Warhol’s extensive involvement in music as an album cover designer, manager, and record producer.

Sound Series: Jens Lekman
Saturday, February 3 at 8:00 pm in the Warhol Entrance Space
The Warhol welcomes Jens Lekman, from Gothenburg, Sweden, on a short solo tour. Lekman’s unique sensibility draws from his droll sense of humor, romance, and melody, taking inspiration from artists such as Arthur Russell, The Magnetic Fields, Calvin Johnson, Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers. Lekman has an extensive catalog of releases including his acclaimed full-length, Night Falls Over Kortedala (2007), I Know What Love Isn’t (2012), and Life Will See You Now(2017). This event is co-presented with WYEP.
