The Odd, Mysterious & Fascinating History of Pittsburgh

Join the Pittsburgh Young Preservationist Association for an evening of Odd, Mysterious & Fascinating History with John Schalcosky at the Neu Kirche Contemporary Art Center in Pittsburgh’s Northside.

John is author of the popular Facebook page “The Odd, Mysterious & Fascinating History of Pittsburgh.” He’s also a Historian, Archivist, Research Specialist, Professional Genealogist, Manager and a Neo-Classical Composer along with many other fields of study.

The December Speakers Series will take place in the chapel of Neu Kirche, a church-turned-community arts center in Pittsburgh’s Northside. Saved from demolition by local community group and sold to artist and founder Lee Parker, Neu Kirche is a great example of creative and adaptive church reuse, that encourages authentic community engagement.

The Odd, Mysterious & Fascinating History of Preservation in Pittsburgh will take place on Tuesday, December 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Neu Kirche Contemporary Art Center, located at 1000 Madison Avenue in East Deutschtown. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit the Young Preservationist Association Speaker Series event page.
