Join your neighbors and friends on the steps of Northside Common Ministries for a vigil to celebrate the life of Reverend Sheldon Stoudemire and carry on his legacy of standing up against violence in our communities.
Born and raised in Braddock, Reverend Sheldon Stoudemire worked at the Pleasant Valley Men’s Shelter at Northside Common Ministries, serving men experiencing homelessness. Throughout his life, he served not only as a beloved father, husband, and grandfather, but also as a mentor, activist, boxing coach, Army Ranger, author, and street preacher, whose ministry taught compassion, forgiveness, and nonviolence.
The Vigil in Honor of Reverend Sheldon Stoudemire will be held on Sunday, August 25 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Northside Common Ministries, located at 1601 Brighton Road. If you have questions, email Jay Poliziani, Director of Northside Common Ministries.
