Join the Office of Public Art on a Walking Tour of Allegheny Center on April 15. Learn about the Center’s history and modernist architecture from Raymund Ryan, curator of the Heinz Architectural Center at the Carnegie Museum of Art. “Allegheny Center was once at the forefront of urban thinking. Today it is on the cusp of major renewal,” says Ryan. Allegheny Center is currently being developed as a technology center named Nova Place.
The walking tour will begin by exploring Allegheny Center’s exterior and interior, followed by the IBM Building, Carnegie Free Library of Allegheny, the Children’s Museum, and Buhl Community Park.
The Walking Tour of Allegheny Center will take place April 15 from 7:00 until 8:00 pm. All participants should meet at the front entrance of the Children’s Museum. This walking tour is primarily on flat terrain and is not physically demanding. To register for the tour, visit the Office of Public Art Walking Tour of Allegheny Center event page
