Meet Your Neighbors – Kyle, Brooke and Chili

New neighbors Kyle and Brooke, along with their dog Chili, are the latest additions to Jacksonia Street. We took a moment to ask them ten questions that would help us get to know our new neighbors better.

New Neighbors - Kyle, Brooke and ChiliWhy Move to Allegheny City Central?
We lived in the Allegheny Center Apartments and fell in love with the area while taking our dog on several walks through the Mexican War Streets. Kyle works Downtown, so he was happy to find a home within walking distance to work, and I work in Aspinwall which is a convenient drive on 28. We love being close to the stadiums and being able to walk to anything Downtown.

Best Place for a Beer and a Bite to Eat?
We don’t go out very often, and there are so many good places on the North Shore and Downtown. We really like the Beer Market, especially during the warmer months. You can’t beat the beer selection, and you can order food from other local restaurants. We also really like Seviche Downtown, and Monterey Pub is great as well.

Favorite Book?
I haven’t been reading as much lately, but I did really enjoy the Hunger Games books. Kyle stopped reading for pleasure when he started law school. He says he reads all day at work and hasn’t read a good book in a long time.

Favorite Movie?
I love just about any movie. I’ll take any chance I can get to go to the theater or drive-in. It’s really hard to pick a favorite, but Mean Girls is one that I watch anytime I see it on TV. Kyle says his favorites are probably Forrest Gump and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Favorite Sport?
Favorite to play: Golf  (I played on the golf team in high school and college). Favorite to watch: Football (go Steelers!).

Last Musical Event Attended?
We enjoy the local music events all over Downtown and the North Shore during the summer. The last formal musical event we attended was during First Night 2014.

What Do You Like To Do for Fun?
We enjoy just being active and going on walks around the area with our dog, Chili. We enjoy going out when we can and traveling to visit friends and family. Most of our free time is spent with family and friends.

Favorite Place to Hang Out Within Walking Distance?
We consider all of Downtown to be within walking distance, but within a more reasonable walking distance, we spend the most time at the North Side Dog Park, and Monterey Pub is a fun place to hang out.

One Adjective to Describe Allegheny City Central?
Diverse.

If Allegheny City Central Was a Song, What Would It Be?
