President’s Statement on Recent Neighborhood Violence

Over the last few weeks, several incidents of gun violence have occurred, most recently and shockingly the shooting at the basketball courts near the former Kindred hospital. On behalf of the Allegheny City Central Association board, I would like to express our deep sadness that these events have occurred, and our wishes for a speedy and complete recovery for those affected by Tuesday night’s terrible incident.

Neighborhood Pride Assessment Survey

Please provide your input to the Safety Committee by completing a Neighborhood Pride Assessment Survey. This survey will be used to identify and address safety issues in the neighborhood and to develop action plans for solving the identified issues. The deadline for submission is Monday, December 15.

October’s Neighborhood Safety Meeting Highlights

Allegheny City Central Association’s first monthly Neighborhood Safety Meeting was held on Tuesday, October 29, 2014 at Carnegie Library – Allegheny. In attendance at the meeting were Chief Cameron McLay, Zone 1 Commander RaShall Brackney, Community Officer Larry Crawford, Councilwoman Darlene Harris and about 35 residents from our community.

Attend the Neighborhood Public Safety Meeting

Safety First!

On Tuesday October 28, the Allegheny City Central Association Safety Committee will be hosting a Neighborhood Public Safety Meeting. The meeting will be held at Carnegie Library – Allegheny, located at 1230 Federal Street, starting at 6:00 pm. Scheduled to attend are Zone 1 Commander Brackney, Officer Larry Crawford, and representatives from Daniel Lavelle and Darlene Harris’ offices.
