Infrastructure Upgrades

Costa Construction has begun the water and sewer infrastructure work on the Garden Theater Block Development. The work is being overseen by the Urban Redevelopment Authority and will serve the entire block. The scope of work includes the installation of a new sewer lines in the sidewalk along West North Avenue. The first component of the project involves boring underneath the walkway between the Garden Theater and 8 W. North Avenue.

This infrastructure work is anticipated to take between two and three months depending on the weather. Once the infrastructure work is complete, the build out of the interior of the Garden Theater will commence.

Masonic Building

City of Asylum Pittsburgh has entered a period of exclusive negotiations to purchase the Masonic Building for its Alphabet City project. Construction work on the core and shell of this building should begin in early 2015.

Proposals for Remaining Properties

The Urban Redevelopment Authority is currently reviewing the proposals of five developers which responded to the Request for Proposals for the 8, 6, 4, and 2 W. North Avenue along with 1113 – 1115 Federal Street. A decision on the proposals is expected by the middle of December.
