Art As Liberation: Celebrating Black Art in Pittsburgh
TONIGHT, Friday, June 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm
In honor of Juneteenth, 1Hood Media will host an outdoor celebration of Black Art in Pittsburgh at the Sampsonia Way Tent, located at 318 Sampsonia Way. This event is hosted in collaboration with Mikael Owunna, Larry Ossei-Mensah, Orange Barrel Media, and the Pittsburgh Glass Center. Enjoy an afternoon of music, performances, a visual art fair, and free food. This in-person event is free to attend and no reservations are required.

Spotlight: Performer Creations. Presented by City Theatre – Day One

Spotlight celebrates six unique voices and stories that show that artistic spirit is alive and thriving in Pittsburgh. Enjoy short digital performances by Julianne Avolio, Martin Giles, Laurie Klatscher, Treble NLS, LaTrea Rembert, and Bria Walker. Both June 23rd and June 24th feature the same performances. This event is presented in partnership with City Theatre. You can enjoy this performance in person at the Sampsonia Way Tent, located at 318 Sampsonia Way, or live-streamed online via City of Asylum @ Home.

The Magic Mansion Presented by The Frick Pittsburgh
Friday, June 25 at 6:30 pm
Join The Frick Pittsburgh for free performances inspired by The Frick’s historic campus and its summer exhibitions, Cast in Chrome: The Art of Hood Ornaments and Sporting Fashion: Outdoor Girls 1800 to 1960. The June installment features period music and sleight-of-hand magic to transport you to Clayton, the Gilded Age home of the Frick family. Performers for the evening are Dan Kamin (magic) and Tom Roberts (piano). This is a virtual-only event streamed on City of Asylum @ Home.
