Friday Night Classic Movies in Spring Hill’s Waisenhaus Park

Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club will be presenting Friday Night Classic Movies in the Park this summer.  Movies will be shown every other Friday at dusk in Waisenhaus Park, located at 1926  Rockledge Street in Spring Hill. The movies are free, and you are asked to bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Below are the movies currently scheduled with their dates and times. The schedule is dependent on the weather.   • Casablanca: Friday, June 11 at 9:00 pm
    Join Rick (Humphrey Bogart) as he tries to navigate running a “gin joint” in Casablanca while dealing with corrupt police officials, Nazis, mercenaries, World War II refugees, patriots, and an ex-love (Ingrid Bergman) who he’s never forgotten, despite his best efforts.
  • Rear Window: Friday, June 25 at 9:00 pm
    Photographer Jeff (Jimmy Stewart), holed up in his apartment with a broken leg, alternates between spying on the neighbors and avoiding matrimony with his girlfriend (Grace Kelly). However, things quickly turn sinister when a neighbor starts behaving suspiciously.
  • Charade: Friday, July 9 at 9:00 pm
    Confused widow Regina (Audrey Hepburn) finds herself in a life-threatening situation, having to dodge dangerous men for reasons she can’t understand. Luckily, charming stranger, Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) attempts to come to her aid. However, nothing is as it seems and no one can be taken at face value.
  • Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: Friday, July 23 at 9:00 pm
    Money-loving Lorelei (Marilyn Monroe) will stop at nothing to see that she marries a wealthy man.  However, her obsessive pursuit of diamonds leads her into trouble. Her common-sense friend, Dorothy (Jane Russell) has to try to keep her on the straight and narrow.
  • The Magnificent Seven: Friday, August 6 at 9:00 pm
    When gunslinger Chris (Yul Brynner) learns some peaceful Mexican farmers are being bullied by a group of bandits, he gathers his gunslinger friends and rides to the rescue. The bandits are fierce and large in number, while Chris has only seven men plus a number of frightened, inexperience farmers.
  • Double Indemnity: Friday, August 20 at 9:00 pm
    Regular Joe Walter (Fred MacMurray) has no idea that his life will be changed irrevocably when he meets his client Mr. Dietrichson and wife Phyllis (Barbara Stanwyck). He quickly becomes involved in a murder plot – which he feels is the perfect crime. But, is it?
