The Mayor’s Office is re-launching its Civic Leadership Academy, a free 10-week course for local residents to learn more about City government directly from leaders of City departments, authorities, and bureaus.
Sessions of the Civic Leadership Academy will be held on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm from September through December. Participants will engage in weekly presentations, discussions, and site visits with city government leaders. More information, including a full list of participating departments, can be found online.
Pittsburgh residents can apply for the program by submitting an applications from now until 11:59 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026. Participation is limited and applicants must be residents of the City of Pittsburgh OR operate a business, non-profit, or do community impact work within city limits.
