At the June 9, 2014 ACCA general membership meeting, City of Pittsburgh Councilman Daniel Lavelle confirmed that a traffic study of Federal Street is underway. The study is in response to neighbors’ concerns about how to help prevent speeding and accidents on Federal Street.

This week, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) granted an extension until July for Allegheny City Development Group LLC to close on the former Masonic Temple on North Avenue. The Masonic building will move forward with City of Asylum Pittsburgh as the anchor tenant, and the timetable for the rest of the buildings on the block has been accelerated.
